Boarding house in Le Chi
We plan to build a new boarding house for disadvantaged kids. The project is a 160m2 building in the small town of Le Chi, about 30 km north east of Pleiku which will serve as a boarding house for 30 boys from small villages around Le Chi.
The only public school in a large area is in Le Chi and many of these villages are too remote from this school for a daily attendance.
The kids will mainly come from poor ethnic minorities, but also kids from poor Vietnamese families are welcome. The kids will be looked after again by Vietnamese nuns from the convent Saint Paul de Chartres and get free housing, free food etc.
Thousands of minorities live in poverty in this area. Since most of them do not speak the Vietnamese language, they face huge difficulties in attending schools, finding decent jobs, let alone buying property in the country they have been living for centuries. The nuns are doing a great job by helping these people. They are building a bridge between the Jai Rai minority and the Vietnamese society. Since the fight against poverty starts with education we help the nuns as much as we can.
The nuns have bought a plot of land very near the public school and are looking for funds to realize their new project. At this moment they are seeking building permission for the project.
The estimated cost price of the building is 25.000 USD. We already had a donation of 12.500 USD from mr Gary Neinam, a South African entrepreneur, who is living in Belgium. So we are looking for another 12.500 USD.
We welcome any help from sponsors. All donations will be used entirely for the charity, like with all other charity projects from Live and Give. All overhead costs related to the charity are borne by the founders of Live and Give personally.
