An iron lady with leper
I first spotted her , 6 months ago, when she was slowly walking with a basket full of firewood at her back. She had a wooden leg, a wound under her knee, no teeth and wrinkles in her face like small riverbeds.
But after she had brought the firewood to her hut she came back to us with a million dollar smile on her face. Life is daily battle for her but it is a battle she always wins. Today after 6 months she still had the same big smile. Both her children are dead and she lives among the outcasts but no one or nothing has brought her down to her knees , not even leper. She is one of the most inspiring people I met in recent years.
Her name is Chat, and she lives in one of the Leper villages we regularly visit to bring food packages.
