Grant is learning the nuns how to pronounce the letter P

Grant is a great teacher

We have found a great teacher in Grant Chenery, who has volunteered to give free English classes to the Vietnamese nuns, novices and children of Pleiku .His students are very eager and we are sure they will speak a fair bit of English after a week. In normal life Grant teaches English in Ho Chi Minh City.

When I came for the first time to Pleiku there was nobody here to speak English. I only could communicate with Sister Theresita in French, which surprisingly for me went pretty well. Since 2 months sister An Mau joined the convent in Pleiku, who is the only one now to speak good English. We are going to spend a few hours a day to train sister An Mau to teach English herself to her colleages and to the children in our boarding school in Pleiku.

The English lessons is part of a volunteering program Live and Give is setting up from Vietnam to bring as much as possible training proffesionals to Pleiku. Live and Give, together with the nuns provide for  food and lodging. In return the volunteers get also free lessons in Vietnamese.
