Moon festival at Thien An
On the occasion of the Vietnamese Moon festival our kids at Thien An were treated last weekend to the traditional moon cakes, lion dances, a procession with lanterns and lots of dances composed and performed by themselves. H'Nhu, with her fifteen years the oldest of the kids at Thien An took the initiative to compose different dances, both traditional and modern. One of the highlights of the Saturday night was a performance from all kids of the ‘birds dance’ , which unfortunately was hindered by the rain.
The performances took place at the yard of the nuns, during the season used for drying coffee beans, until the rain drove us all to a shelter underneath the chapel of the nuns. There, 30 kids of Thien An gave their best performance on their mandolins.
The kids thoroughly enjoyed the festivities and once again the nuns have shown their organizational talent.
