Visit of the Dutch Consul General and his wife to Thien An
Thien An has been honored with the visit of the Dutch Consul General to Vietnam Mr Jos Schellaars and his wife Mrs Heleen Schellaars- van Berkel.
Mr Schellaars is leading the Dutch consulate in Ho Chi Minh City since 2008 and his wife Heleen is a member and the former president of the Consular Club in Ho Chi Minh City, a non-profit organization comprised of persons from all countries represented by a Consular mission in Ho Chi Minh City.
It is the Club’s main objective to make a contribution towards improving the quality of life of disadvantaged groups mainly in southern Viet Nam. (www.consularclub.com).
The Consular Club has made 2 direct donations to the nuns of Saint Paul the Chartres. One donation of 5000 USD has been used to contribute to the running cost of Thien An, and the second donation of 2000 USD has been used for the installation of the Medicine room at Thien An.
The kids gave a mini concert playing their mandolins and the nuns prepared an excellent lunch which was most enjoyed by the honorable guests.
We thank the Dutch consul General and his wife for their visit and the Consular Club for their generous donations.
